Children's Bibles & Devotion Books

Based on the bestselling The Beginner’s Bible brand, The Beginner’s Bible: Kid-Sized Devotions is perfect for children 6 and under. The simple connections to scripture make the content relevant and understandable for young readers while the colorful illustrations are sure to be a delight. Each of the 365 devotions has a theme to which the Scripture, story, and art relate. It’s the perfect starting point for children as they develop a stronger relationship with God, to cuddle-up with parents or enjoy at church or daycare.

My Review

The illustrations are the same beautiful illustrations from The Beginner’s Bible (which I also wholeheartedly recommend!). The devotionals are very short to accommodate short attention spans, but they are still Biblically based AND made relevant to a child’s life.

My Review

This is a board book so little ones can help turn the pages.  It has a very short condensed Bible story, about a paragraph in size, and a short give thanks, application to encourage little ones to thank God. Recommended for the little ones.

My Review

This is a colorful, fun little book. Just perfect for toddler hands and fingers with the thick board style pages. The pictures are great, and the stories are even more fantastic. One thing I noticed is that this book is simple enough that early readers should be able to read it on their own if they can. My only issue is that it is too short.

My Review

The adorable creatures from Bear Country act out ten different stories from the Old and New Testament. It begins with Creation and then moves on to Noah building the ark. After that is David meeting Goliath in an epic showdown. Then we venture with Daniel into the lion’s den. Our stories continue into the New Testament with the birth of Christ. The next story is from Luke chapter 10 and teaches us about being a good neighbor. From there we fast forward to Palm Sunday and go with Jesus as He makes His triumphal entry into Jerusalem where He will later be crucified. But fear not because the last story reminds us that He Is Risen!

The Purpose Driven Life Devotional for Kids includes 365 devotions that tie to the themes and ideas found in the bestselling The Purpose Driven Life. Capturing the hearts of the new generation means ensuring they know their purpose and grow up confident of their value in God and their relationship to Christ. God created each of his children with a purpose in mind … the time is now to, thoughtfully and prayerfully, start the incredible journey to finding that reason.

My Review

This 90-Day devotional, written by Oak Hills Church pastor Randy Frazee, is part of the church-wide Believe campaign and encourages children to follow the footsteps of Jesus. Think, Act, Be Like Jesus; A Believe Devotional for Kids shares the message that the more you believe, the more Jesus can change you from the inside out to become the best person you can be.

My Review

So the three ways to follow Jesus are Think, Act, and Be. Each one has an about ten subjects with verses to go to read about the subject. So each topic is color coded so you can go to if that is what you need to be read about that day.

All books can be bought at Zondervan or Amazon.
