My Review:

I have never read a book about easter that was really gear for small children. It briefly covers Jesus’s ministry, then shifts to His arrest, crucifixion, and burial. But “something amazing” happens the next Sunday morning. The disciples’ sorrow turns to rejoicing! The book concludes with the Ascension and the last spread’s picture looks down from the Risen Savior’s perspective as He returns to heaven. The colorful, cartoon-like illustrations show great facial expressions. A great gift for Sunday School students or any child this time of year.

The pictures are really nice inside the book too. One other thing to note is that when Jesus is baptized with the Holy Spirit, the book says “God appeared in the shape of a dove,” which is not really accurate. Matthew 3:16 says, “After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him.” The Bible says “like a dove,” not “as a dove.” These are two different things. The phrase “like a dove” is actually a metaphor to describe the gentle way the Spirit of God descended.
